Because of this, in my opinion, the true gameplay of raid is team management. You can manual, but due to the massive amount of fights you have to do, letting the AI fight is much more practical. The combat in raid is almost all automated. If you do not like gacha or gambling, then Raid is probably not the game for you. If you like collecting characters in gacha games, Raid is good for that. Basically a slot machine with a fantasy skin. Spending can speed up prgression and give you more champions to play with, but spending is not required to enjoy the game in my opinion. You can play for free and progress, but with all the time gates, progression takes a long time.
